Wish I’d thought of that

Tom Mangan has a neat idea in his blog. He's been reading trail journals of AT thru-hikers, and every now and then he posts some excerpts.

I find, however, several problems with reading trail journals:

  • When you find a good one, you get caught up in it, losing all track of time.
  • It's hard to find good ones. There are several bad ones.
  • They make you want to quit your job and start hiking.

One Response to Wish I’d thought of that

Another way to look at it is that it’s fun to read about things we will never be able to do. At least by reading, we can take part to some degree….actually in anything we want to.
